Finally on the Wei back?

Tang Wei, the Ang Lee girl who plays a student-turned-spy in his Golden Lion-winning Lust, Caution, may return to the big screen soon.

Mainland director Ma Liwen has invited Tang to star in her new film, tentatively named Luck in Love (Taohua Yun). Also starring mainland comedian Ge You and Chinese American actress Vivian Wu, it's a delightful love story.

The film is scheduled to start shooting any day now in Dalian, a coastal city in northeast China's Liaoning province,

Moviegoers haven't seen Tang since Lust, Caution, which premiered in China last winter.

New tour discovers ancient secrets

Busts of Plato and Aristotle headline a special Beijing exhibition uncovering the mysteries of ancient Greece.

The New Acropolis Museum - Its Architecture and Collections previews copies of the museum's most treasured collection before Greece's newest museum officially opens in Athens later this year.

Beijingers can see Athenian daily life through ancient cooking utensils, tableware, simple jewelry, children's toys and small statues, which were worshipped at the shrines of private homes.

Parts of the Parthenon, the Korai, The Kritios Boy (a well-known sculpture of a young athlete) and the Horse without a Rider are also on show.

The event is part of the "Cultural Year of Greece in China" celebrations and will be staged at the Hellenic House in downtown Beijing. More than 80 items from the seven-year archaeological excavation at the Museum's site will be displayed.

The copies of Plato and Aristotle original busts are important works for Beijingers to witness, says Dimitris Pandermalis, president of the Organization for the Construction of the New Acropolis Museum.

The New Acropolis Museum is located at the southern base of the Acropolis hill in Athens, only 280 m from the Parthenon. When it opens, it will exhibit approximately 4,000 artifacts.

The legend lives on

The Henan government has added a third part to its TV series around its most famous landmark.

Known as the location of the famous Shaolin Temple, the province in central China has already brought the kungfu house to TV audiences.

Named The Legend of Shaolin Temple (Shaolinsi Chuanqi), it is a three-part series, each of 40 episodes.

The first and second parts have been wrapped up - the first won a 20+ percent viewing rate when it was recently aired in 10 channels around the country - and the second will be shown later this year.

The series revolves around a number of heroes in the temple's history stretching back more than 1,500 years.

Tang Can to perform in last Olympic host city

Chinese soprano Tang Can will give a concert in Athens today. Under the baton of the veteran conductor Shao En, the Athens Symphony Orchestra will play a variety of musical selections, ranging from rearranged folk to pop to ballads. Chinese tenor, Dai Yuqiang who shared the stage with the Three Tenors at the Forbidden City in 2001, will perform as guest artist. Hong Kong actor Davie Woo will be the emcee.

In the year of Beijing Olympics, Greece, host of the last Summer Games, is sponsoring a "Year of Greece" campaign across China.

Tang's concert in Athens is a kind of cultural reciprocation. Tang will become the first Chinese singer to perform a concert in Greece.

Since her well-received appearance on the 1999 "New Year's Gala" on CCTV, Tang has widely performed in China and won a long list of awards. In 2004 and 2005, she performed the leading role Jacky Cheung's musical hit Snow Wolf Lake.
