 12 injured in 'revenge blast'

Updated: 2008-07-03 07:33 A man set fire to two gas cylinders that exploded and injured 12 people, five of them seriously, in Hunan province yesterday. The man surnamed Tian drove a tractor with the cylinders into the sub-district office complex in Zhangjiajie around 8:40 am, opened their valves and set them on fire, police said. He caused the blasts to avenge the demolition of his illegal structure by officials, police said. Tian has been detained. Xinhua (China Daily 07/03/2008 page1) |
