Local government is planning a 50-km-long bike lane, the longest of its kind in the country. The bike lane is expected to become a new tourist attraction, as well as a favorite exercise route for Shenzhen residents. (Shenzhen Commercial News) Husband hopes to reunite with estranged wife A 40-year-old man surnamed Duan is seeking the assistance of local media to help him reunite with his estranged wife in Haikou, Hainan province. The couple were married in 1999 but soon began to have frequent fights. Duan's wife left home on June 12 and never returned. In a letter printed in a local newspaper, Duan has promised to correct his mistakes and be nicer to his wife if she returns home. (Nanguo Metropolis Daily) Bank blames con artists for ATM mishap A man surnamed Wu recently sued a bank in Hainan province on Wednesday. Wu claims that he lost 49,988 yuan ($7,100) after following the onscreen directions on an ATM machine owned by the Sanya branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. However, bank officials claim that the faulty ATM directions were the work of con artists - not bank staff. A local court is expected to rule soon.
