Venezuela eyes better relations

Close China-Venezuela ties will lead to more exchanges between Asia and Latin America, for both the countries have been calling for multilateralism in international relations, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro Moros said in Beijing yesterday.

"Both the countries are opposed to hegemony and want multilateralism in international relations based on equality and mutual respect," Maduro said at a news briefing.

"We are standing at the threshold of a new era, an era in which sovereignty should be respected and hegemony opposed."
