Vote on extradition

The right-wing Swiss People's Party (SVP) has got enough support to force a national referendum on an initiative to extradite foreigners who commit serious crimes, it said yesterday.

The SVP, which looks set to consolidate its position as the country's most popular party in elections later this month, said it had more than 170,000 signatures.
