Blast kills six at movies
An explosion yesterday ripped through a crowded cinema, killing six people and injuring dozens more in the northern Indian state of Punjab in what police described as a terrorist attack.
Hundreds of people were crammed into the auditorium in India's industrial capital, Ludhiana, for a late-night screening a new Bollywood comedy.
Indian television showed scenes of devastation, with shattered glass spraying the cinema's bloodstained foyer.
Bollywood duo to reunite
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, two of Bollywood's biggest stars, are reuniting as lead actors in a film for the first time in seven years, its director said.
The pair has starred in some of Bollywood's biggest hits such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
Their new film, My Name is Khan, is aiming for a 2009 release, director Karan Johar said on the weekend.
Johar declined to reveal the plot but some local newspapers say Khan will play a Muslim man and highlight the plight of the community following the attacks in the US on September 11, 2001.
