Road rules ease jams

Beijing's transportation management authorities announced that a rule for the quick settlement of minor traffic accidents has worked remarkably well in reducing traffic jams since it was launched on July 1. The jams caused by accidents dropped nearly 60 percent from last year.
One of the city's biggest headaches, traffic congestion is talked about daily. The local government has made many efforts to address it, including constructing new roads and crossovers, dispatching more policemen and employing assistants to maintain order on the road. But these measures did not result in impressive achievements.
