Death of ROK diplomat 'not food-related'

The death of a senior Republic of Korea (ROK) diplomat in China was not food-related although he died after eating a tuna sandwich, Minister of Health Chen Zhu said yesterday.

"I am 100 percent sure of that," Chen said at a press conference in response to a question raised by a Wall Street Journal reporter.

The Ministry of Health roped in top experts to establish the cause of his death and the result has been handed over to the ROK via diplomatic channels, Chen said, adding the ministry was looking forward to exchanging ideas with the ROK on the matter.
