Rapid urbanization 'too much, too quickly'

Even with a large urban population of 562 million, China's cities are said to have more urban space per capita than most countries in the world.

But according to some experts, Chinese urbanites find this hard to accept as fact.

Because of the high costs of living, many urban residents have to live in outlying development zones far away from the heart of city centers where real estate prices are shooting through the roof.
