Workers' voices must be heard

China Daily | Updated: 2007-01-20 08:13

State-owned enterprises should listen to workers' voices when they carry out reforms, says a signed article in Yanzhao Metropolis News. An excerpt follows:

Soon after a State-owned enterprise (SOE) in Xinyang, Henan Province, was announced bankrupt, its former president won the bid to buy the company, according to a recent report by China Youth Daily.

The whole process of bankruptcy and bidding was manipulated to facilitate the buyout by the former president, going against market law, the will of the company employees and the rules for an open bid.
