After our first visit to Park Tavern, we will likely find ourselves there again spending many weekend afternoons among good friends knocking back pints of Strongbow, Boddingtons, Beamish, Tiger or Stella (RMB35-55). Food is available and their tasty fish and chips (RMB60) subsidize a liquid diet well.

This spacious villa is beautiful with cherry tables, brown leather seating, traditional damask wall paper, Tiffany-style lamps and wall sconces. The second level has been outfitted with a smaller bar and a cozy seating area near a fireplace and bookshelf; the basement houses a pool table and darts. Scattered throughout the floors are TVs perfect for catching the big game--or catching their soon-to-be infamous Wii tournaments. There's plenty of al fresco seating on the first floor patio and on the third floor terrace.

While Park Tavern hosts Aussie-style barbecues, you can also book the terrace and bring your own meat. For your get-together, they will set up an outdoor bar with a pony keg of Tiger and simple spirits. This new outdoor locale is an exciting addition to the weekend line-up with the summer just around the corner.
