Starting on Thursday, the Sanshui lotus park in Foshan, Guangdong Province has a new attraction: a 2.25-meter-tall security guard captain and his three dwarf team members.

Kang Jianhua, 43, who stands almost as tall as NBA star Yao Ming, helped form this eye-catching team to hopefully help his physically-challenged friends make a living.

A contract Kang signed with the Sanshui Lotus World on Tuesday states that the team will be offered an annual salary of 100,000 yuan (US$14,312), from which Kang will get 40,000 yuan and the rest will be shared by his friends, the tallest of whom measures 1.3 meters.

Kang, a native of Henan Province, came to Foshan a few weeks ago to find a job. He initially asked for 100,000 yuan a year from the lotus park which, according to its Web site, is the world's largest lotus ecological theme park.

The park hesitated before Kang brought up Liu Fengying, a 21-year-old girl measuring 1.3 meters, and a proposal of forming a special security guard team.

Because of her height, Liu Fengying had a hard time finding a job. She visited Kang and became his friend after reading a news story about him.

Kang's new idea was welcomed by the park and a following ad soon helped recruit two more members.

Kang is now busy training his team members for their new jobs. But he has bigger plans. He says since the height differences of his team are a sure attraction, he plans to train his guards for entertainment performances as well.
