Tomato Hotpot in Suan Tian Ku La [Photo source: sohu.com] This restaurant is famous for its unique tomato hotpot. The hotpot here is based on a soup made from tomatoes, and individually selected meats and vegetables can be boiled in the pot. The red color and tomato flavor are distinctive and, according to many customers, delicious. The wood paneling and decorations in the restaurant create a pleasant dining atmosphere for guests. Address: Fourth Hutong of Dongsi Street, Dongcheng District Suan Tian Ku La is located in one of the busiest areas in downtown Beijing, not far from Wang Fujing street. The dishes here are characteristic of the Tujiazu, an ethnic group in south central China. Tujiazu foods are brightly colored, and either slightly spicy or extra spicy depending on the customer's preference. Herbs from mountainous areas in Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan and Sichuan and preserved meats are typically incorporated into the dishes. Homemade Tujia wine is also available.
