Mmmama Mmmia!

"M" seems to be the word these days for club goers, maybe even more so if it's located in Shanghai's historical party spot, the former dkd.

M Seven opened with almost the same interior layout as dkd-Cexcept for the dance floor shrinkage, which now is occupied by more table seating. On a Saturday night, a young local crowd had their hands in the air while the DJ played rather commercial and awkward hip-hop tunes ranging from Salt 'n Pepa and Black Eyed Peas to a Billy Jean gangster rap remix. Despite the absurdity in the track selections, the heat was on the dance floor as boys assembled like Asian Ushers on the stage for ladies to grab.

We watched a seductive chair dancing duo while sipping the club's signature cocktail Dream in M Seven (80 yuan) which is a Chinese take on a Long Island Iced Tea, and a gin and tonic (45 yuan). Both were decent, in other words, strong enough.
