Sometimes, all you need is a reliable place to talk business. Yu, with classic jade tones and dark woods, impeccable service and delicious food, will surely help you seal the deal with clients. Yu serves a mixture of conventional Cantonese and Sichuan dishes: shark’s fin, abalone, braised meats, soups, and stir-fries. Start with the Cantonese classic, honey BBQ pork (RMB 68), made with surprisingly lean meat. Then try the wok-fried chicken made with green and red pepper (RMB 68); mala-flavored fried chicken strips will numb your taste buds but entice your appetite. Tender-as-tofu veal with enoki mushrooms and bean sprouts served in a clay pot (RMB 70) was another great server recommendation. However, not everything was as blissful: Our jellyfish appetizer (RMB 38) was a bit bland. But a sip at the tea bar makes for a civilized conclusion to the meal. Yu |
