Deceptive appearance

We raved about the first branch of Bo Yi Chu, but its sister store on Gulou looks less than stylish on first viewing, with its garish purple walls and rather spartan layout.

However, as with many boutiques in Beijing, first appearances can be deceptive. Look beyond the tacky decor and discover a wealth of rather natty Korean clothing and accessories. Garments and accessories are fairly priced, and whilst it can take a harder, closer look to find stylish pieces, they're worth snatching as quickly as possible, as many are one-offs.

We snaffled a gorgeous Korean long-drop necklace (RMB 200) and would've walked off with the elbow-length, black leather gloves (RMB 250) as well if another customer hadn't got in there first.
