Updated: 2008-03-07 14:48 Not only the coffee–strong dark espresso brews with charcoal aromas and a bitter after-taste–but the atmosphere (leathered chairs reminiscent of the Godfather films) makes this a great coffee shop. Citta serves a range of sandwiches, salads and pastas. We tried the smooth, fresh carrot juice (RMB20) followed by the lunch set (RMB66) consisting of a soup or salad, main and coffee. We chose the beef soup, chunky beef pieces flavored with fennel seeds, as well as the bold green balsamic salad to start. Avocado (mostly avocado and egg) and salami sandwiches (prices normally range from RMB32-46) were colorful but more mayonnaise or Dijon would have made them tastier. We finished with a walnut pie(RMB35) which, despite being a bit chewy, melted perfectly with a shot of espresso. Citta Espresso Club |
