Get renewed(That's Beijing)

Renewal Spa has upped the ante with the launch of Renewal Resort at the Upper East Side location. The new wing of the spa specializes in “rituals” –or packages –which combine several of their superb treatments into a prolonged interlude of sheer bliss and indulgence. The Resort wing has three treatment suites –Indonesian, Oriental and Moroccan –all of which are decorated in their own distinctive fashion. The attention to detail is stunning, as all suites are decorated with ethnic knickknacks picked up in Indonesia, Morocco and China; the treatment products (like the Moroccan rose oil) are organic and imported from various countries. As with the treatments in their day spa, Renewal Resort seeks to indulge all the senses: sight, touch, taste, smell and sound. Visually, of course, the spa is very appealing, and luxurious touches like the chilled gold spoons used during some facials ensure that your sense of touch is satisfied. Sounds and smells come courtesy of the pleasing ambient soundtrack piped through the suites, and the aromatic products used throughout the treatments. Even tastebuds are catered to with the spa menu, which offers complimentary snacks tailored to the particular suite you’re in. The treatments themselves meet the high standards of Renewal Spa. We loved the Moroccan treats, which include Moroccan Kassa Scrub, the mud pack and steam session (rasul) and the heady floral scents of the rosewater soak, in a bathtub large enough to swim lengths in (trust us, we tried). Naturally, this level of indulgence comes with a luxurious price tag (packages in the Moroccan suite start from RMB 1,788 for three hours). However, for those seeking a well-deserved bit of “me time,” a retreat in the Renewal Resort is worth forking out for. Renewal Resort |
