Savor the moment in Heavenly Spa

(That's Beijing)

The Westin’s Heavenly Bed has already caused a storm – demand for this luxury slumber accessory (around RMB 20,000) was so great the hotel had to begin selling the beds to the public. It’s no wonder then that a spa experience with the same branding is similarly relaxing. The Heavenly Spa at the Westin Financial Street does not disappoint.

At the first Heavenly Spa in China, one of only seven worldwide, the aura of calm envelops you as soon as you step out of the elevator. The real treat though is the slippers guests are handed on arrival, without a doubt the most comfortable things ever to have graced a foot.

After a relaxing cup of tea and an in-depth personal questionnaire, you are led through to the treatment room. The rooms themselves are little havens of relaxation, solitude, and understated luxury. Tastefully decorated with lattice paneling, all suites have their own changing areas and bathrooms, and the showers are fitted with subtle color-changing lights and steam room function settings. The Heavenly Bed treatment tables are imported from the States.

Heavenly Spa uses products by Italian brand Comfort Zone, a favorite with high-end spas the world over, and the range of treatments on offer is extensive. Sixty-minute facial “rituals” go for RMB 600, massages start at RMB 550, and RMB 250 will get you a body scrub. For this degree of pampering and luxury, though, it’s worth going for a package, such as the signature treatment, the Westin Wonder, which combines a body scrub, bath soak and massage for RMB 850 (two hours).
