*I Love Shanghai

The Halloween celebration starts with a barbecue and costume awards event at Jingan Moonriver Diner (66,77 Yuyao Lu, The New Factories. Tel: 021-52135106). Then all guests will board a bus bound for the North Bund. There fun seekers will parade down the promenade into I Love Shanghai, where an open bar is waiting for them. DJ Sexy Paul will spin the discs until 2am. The price of 200 yuan includes all you can eat barbecue and an open bar.

*Silver Moon

Here ghosts and goblins will find a spooky Halloween party. On October 31, Silver Moon will be the spot for Naughty Nurses, Vicious Vampires and Ghoulish Ghosts to get together and join in a night of dancing, drinking and flirting to Latino music. Tickets are 260 yuan each, including a glass of Champagne or Special Halloween Punch, finger foods, free flowing beer and a chance to win some great prizes. The grand prize is an air ticket to Hong Kong. A good thing to note about this event is that 10 percent of the ticket revenues will be donated to the China Children and Teenagers Fund.

*Mural

If you are too lazy to dress up for Halloween, you may find a spot dressed for Halloween. Mural is such a place. On Wednesday night it will host a Halloween party with crazy decoration and music. Along with it are an African drummer and some professional Samba dancers. If you come in costume, you will be given a free Bloody Mary. Tickets are 30 yuan each, including a dozen bottles of Carlsberg beer and one free entry pass to Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum.

*Club G Plus

If you're not a fan of costumes and just want a place to unwind, then check out Club G Plus Wednesday night. DJ Markus Schulz gives patrons good old-fashioned music. For the past year he has traveled the world playing his personal brand of “dark, moody, melodic trance". And on Wednesday night he’ll play his newest mix CD “Ibiza 06” to give listeners the feeling like they are on a solitary island.
