With the days fast approaching the end of October, a mythical and eerie feeling is starting to get stronger. Halloween is just around the corner. Street stalls have already started displaying various masks, bars putting up pumpkin lanterns and fun seekers are also contemplating where to spend Halloween night. To add more possible spots to their lists, here we name a few bars celebrations this pagan event. Beijing *Jamie's Bar Whenever there's celebration, many people in Beijing think of Hou Hai first. Jamie's Bar, an English-owned and operated pub on the banks of Hou Hai has some tricks and treats for Halloween. People who come in costume can get a free spooky shot. the bar has a Sony Playstation on widescreen as well as a free Internet terminal. Serving staff speak both English and Chinese. Location: 1 Houhai Nanyan, Hou Hai west bank, opposite the Imperial Lake Cafe *Capone's Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar An uber-cool Italian eatery in the new shopping mall called The Place, Capone's features a worthwhile happy hour on Halloween. All beer, cocktails and spirits are priced at 30 yuan. If wine is more your poison, it's buy one glass get one glass free that night. Diners may come with or without a costume. Capone's accepts all international Credit Cards. Location: L404A, The Place, 9 Guanghua Lu *Bar Blu A spot drawing in a predominantly foreign crowd with decent cocktails, Bar Blu offers a freaky Halloween party on October 31. The spooky party starts with two drinks and get another one free. The managers will decide who is the best dressed and the winner will receive a bottle of Moet and Chandon. Other free prizes will also be given away throughout the evening. So for a fun Halloween experience away from home, go to Bar Blu. Location: 4/F, 5/F Tongli Studio, Sanlitun Beijie *Raj Indian Restaurant and Bar Apart from Hou Hai, another good spot for Halloween celebrations is the Drum Tower. Located in a 200-year old wooden house close to the Drum Tower, Raj offers a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes with very reasonable prices. This Halloween night it features an open buffet and barbecue, free flowing beer and soft drinks. Enhancing the atmosphere will be live Indian dance and music.
