An oil painting exhibition documenting people's reactions to China's current rapid development will open September 15. This is Kang Jianfei's first solo show since 2003 and it runs until October 15.
Kang graduated from the department of printmaking from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1997. At the graduation exhibition, his works were highly praised and he won first prize.
After that, Kang took up woodcarving, which brought him many awards on printmaking, including third prize in the National Art Exhibition and second in the National Printmaking Exhibition.
Like Kang's 2003 oil painting exhibition, his latest works are closely connected with his printmaking origins. The paintings feature unique personalities and profiles. He describes his latest show as, "These paintings can give people inspiration, and so it's good to people to go to see the exhibition."
People viewing this exhibition will surely be drawn in by the hidden sadness and anxiety, which invokes people's deep feelings towards China's rapid development.
And for the first time during the exhibition, Kang will sell his painting album.
