1 Steak King

Even though it has a western name, Steak King offers both Chinese and Western fast food. The most recommended Chinese dish is Nanru Zhupai (pork chop), as the meat is both lean juicy. For Western dishes, try the sirloin steak, served in a large portion, making it value for money.

Sirloin Steak offers also quite a few desserts. Have some when you order a takeaway, and these desserts can also be between-meal snacks.

2 Bayue Changfen Zhouguan (August rice noodle congee eatery)

This is a typical Cantonese eatery serving fresh and clean-tasting dishes. Diners should try the barbecue rice noodle, which is eaten together with some sauce and is accompanied with a bowl of congee. All congee here are worth a try, in particular the one with fresh slices.

Diners can also find some well-known Cantonese snacks, like Shuangpinai (double boiled milk), and Guilinggao (herb jelly). And its salty green soybean is an ultimate treat, at only 2 yuan per serving.

Maybe it doesn’t offer the best pizza you’ve ever had, but when it’s a nine-inch pepperoni pizza for only 10 yuan, does it really matter? The most recommended one is Hawaii pizza, served in a large portion. Hello Pizza also offers various tapas. Tuna salad and the banana milk shake are both worth a try.

4 Laolian Xianroucai Eatery

Xianroucai is a kind of traditional Chinese dish made by frying preserved salty pork with vegetables. This kind of preserved salty pork normally includes pig skin, which Chinese people believe is rich in collagen and is good to the skin.

Laolian eatery is just a place for you to find Xianroucai. While the place may look on the shabby side, the dishes don’t disappoint. Most of the items on the menu are also inexpensive, just several yuan each. Recommended dishes include the Xianroucai set meal and Hongshao Zhuti (braised pork leg) for 13 yuan. The set meal for 9 yuan includes a bowl of bone soup, and three spareribs, which is good value for your money.
