The building is a beautiful complex - spa, nail bar, yoga studio, cafe, lounge and retail area under one roof - like a relaxed sanctuary within an urban landscape. The entrance through an iron gate provides a first impression that exudes elegance within a setting of cozy seclusion. The old exteriors remain while the interior space has been redecorated in an East-meets-West design that successfully blends natural and artificial elements, creating a stylish retreat. The philosophy of Living Room is to offer "a unique, high-end lifestyle center, catering to a discriminating client looking for more of an experience than a simple spa pampering or yoga practice," director Myra Man said. "We understand the needs of modern people. Living Room was created as an 'urban paradise' that is fashionably hip, culturally authentic and architecturally exciting." This is why this particular setting was chosen - an old house in the city center, where the height of European decadence was played out. "The place is an all-purpose spa and leisure environment where we offer quality products and treatments in a spacious yet cozy environment, reminiscent of one's very own living room," the Hong Konger said. An ultra-chic welcoming area, cafe and lounge on the ground floor bring a fashionably hip touch to the cozy setting. "Smartly dressed business people and sophisticated trend setters can relax and mingle in the cafe and lounge before or after the spa treatment," Man said. "They can even sip on a glass of champagne while treating the tootsies to some much-needed pampering." The building's second and third floors are the spa area, with nine treatment rooms, including one for Thai massage. Melinda Friend-Marchal, spa manager at Royal Phuket
Marina, was brought in to act as a spa consultant and trainer at Living Room.
She focused on fine tuning the delivery of the nine therapists' skills; more
importantly, she identified the individual strengths of each so they are all
unique in their own style and cater to a clientele with different requirements.
