As with most Malaysian food festivals held locally, Malaysian Airlines is sponsoring a pair of return tickets to KL for a lucky winner. The Shangri-La is also offering stays at its properties in the country.

Across the Huangpu River,Le Royal Meridien Shanghaiis casting its gaze eastward, offering authentic Mexican cuisine prepared by guest chefs Sergio Snyder and Roberto Treves at its Le Bistrot all-day diner.

One major complaint is that Mexican food offered locally is usually of the Tex-Mex variety found in the United States. This pair of traveling chefs, however, are indeed the real enchilada, preparing bona fide burritos, nachos and tacos, among other specialties.

The Mexican pair have been visiting China since 1993 and hope to return again soon. Those who want to sample their offerings should look out for the familiar green, white and red Mexican flag during the 168 yuan buffet lunch or the 218 yuan dinner. The promotion ends tomorrow.

Mexican food is also perfect for lazy Sundays and will be on offer during the Sunday Brunch at 418 yuan per person, which includes a free flow of Moet & Chandon champagne, wine and other beverages.
