Singapore's Justin Quek is a classically trained French chef of repute, and the creator of Taipei's French restaurant La Petite Cuisine. The next step is understandably Shanghai and has been named La Platane.

Located near the lake in Xintiandi, the first floor is home to a brasserie and bar which has a relaxed feel to it, while La Platane is on the second floor. The Western d¨Ścor beautifully compliments with traditional Chinese artworks -like classic ink paintings of birds and flowers adorn the wall while the tableware is of Christofle . The screens of private rooms can be opened so that you get to see the culinary performances of the chefs in the kitchen. The dishes are old favorites which have been gathered from Quek's years of experience as a gourmand, using the finest ingredients that oozes authentic French flavor.
