"Shakespeare's most famous comedy," says TNT Theatre director Paul Stebbings of A Midsummer Night's Dream - but that won't stop this British company from giving it their own spin:"We aim to rescue the play as an exciting drama - our fairies are dangerous, our Queen of the Amazons rips out men's hearts!" There's also an original score, as well as plenty of TNT's - and Shakespeare's - penchant for the grotesque: "If it's our trademark, it's also Shakespeare's," says Stebbings. "

In A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Queen of the Fairies falls in love with a man with a donkey's head! This is one of the funniest plays ever written but it's also a serious look at the madness of falling in love. So it's bittersweet and, of course, grotesque!"
