Treatment battles the yearsBy Patsy Yang (Shanghai Daily)Updated: 2007-03-14 09:25 A war on aging has been declared as luxury French brand
Guerlain introduces a new treatment that is designed for those seeking only the
very best.
To have a pleasing appearance is a basic human desire. Women over 35 are increasingly finding ways to diminish the appearance of age lines and leave their skin looking lifted and translucent. The luxuriously-appointed Guerlain Spa in the Regent Hotel, Shanghai, recently launched the new Exceptional Orchidee Imperiale Treatment (1,980 yuan/US$255) for those seeking only the very best. With this new treatment, Guerlain unites aesthetic expertise with the extraordinary anti-aging action of its new Exceptional Complete Care, Orchidee Imperiale. Before indulging in the two-hour treatment, a customer will be asked to choose among her favorite Guerlain fragrance from six choices. This is followed by a 15-minute footbath while filling out a wellness questionnaire. This luxurious and deeply relaxing treatment starts with deep cleansing, steam and exfoliation followed by extractions and eyebrow shaping. A Guerlain Perfect Whitening C Sheet Mask is applied afterwards to soothe and refresh, giving a translucent and even-tone complexion. Before the application, the therapist applies the new Orchidee Imperiale Eye and Lip Contour Cream, a hydrating veil that is rapidly absorbed to restore firmness, suppleness and comfort. In the meantime, a paraffin wax hand treatment is administered. Next comes the exclusive 25-minute Guerlain rejuvenating and detoxifying facial massage. Known as the Guerlain Methode, this patented facial and body massage technique has been used in Guerlain's Champs-Elysees Institute in Paris since 1939; it has been proven to provide exceptional results through enhanced product infusion and lymphatic drainage. The entire face is then replenished with Exceptional Orchidee Imperiale Cream
before the mask application begins.
