Equestrian
As long as you're not competing in a professional equestrian event, regular clothes are fine for going horseback riding. But there are a few things you should bear in mind.

Professional equestrian pants normally have a loose crotch and are tight in the bottom. Try to choose pants that are similar in shape and are made from canvas or corduroy. If you are wearing jeans, make sure they have give in them.

What to wear:
Try wearing Frye boots instead of ordinary shoes, as Frye boots are tall enough to protect the leg from rubbing against the saddle, and their soles are expecially designed to avoid getting stuck in the stirrup. If you don't have a pair of Frye boots, then try wearing shin guards.

It's a good idea to wear a helmet in case of any accidents.
