New haven for food lovers

F.C.C. stands for Foreign Culture Club, a newly built haven for food lovers. The three-storey, old French concession building comprises four outlets designed by Filippo Gabbani, the designer of the award-winning Bund 18.

The Terrace, located on the first floor, boasts a sleek, minimalist design. The use of soft lights combined with light-colored furnishings relaxes one's mood. We started the evening with a bowl of hearty pumpkin soup (RMB 58), a mouthwatering balance of flavors and textures. For mains, slow-cooked Australian lamb shank (RMB 178, 250g) was tasty, tender and juicy. And for desserts, the traditional tiramisu (RMB 68) with French hazelnuts, placed in a martini glass, is a delectable sweet for espresso-lovers. Servings are ample, so if you're a light eater, it's best to bring along someone who likes to share.
