The movie Curse of the Golden Flower (Huangjin Jia) premieres across the town this Thursday (December 14).

Though an easy target for unfavorable comparisons with recent bombs The Promise and The Banquet, decide for yourself when Curse of the Golden Flower, Zhang Yimou¡¯s latest blockbuster, finally premieres in Beijing. Selected as the mainland's entry into next year's Academy Awards, the film is set in the imperial court of the Tang Dynasty and tells the story of power plays between the king and queen and their three sons. Starring Chow Yun-Fat, Gong Li (who returns after a long hiatus to act with her former regular collaborator/boyfriend) and popular Taiwanese singer Jay Chou.
