One of Shanghai's Xintiandi establishments, the theme of this restaurant has always been nutritious cuisine. The walls are decorated with famous historical figures discussing the important health properties of cuisine, while the floor is made up of the bricks carved with calligraphy.

Rare herbs are displayed in one corner, and symbolic statues of the immortals look out over dining patrons from another. Herbal Legend is well known for its innovative use of Chinese traditional medicinal herbs in its menu. The majority of dishes actually utilize rare efficacious plants-ingredients that do not have the bitter taste of many of China's more common medicinal herbs.
