Robin Gibb left his heart in Shanghai during his first concert in May and loves the city so much that he is giving a second show tomorrow night, writes Michelle Zhang.

To everyone's surprise, Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees has decided to come back to Shanghai again, only shortly after his unforgettable performance that rocked the Shanghai Grand Stage in May.

Tomorrow, the "Fever Returns Back" concert will be held at the same venue. So Bee Gees fans (especially those who missed the earlier concert): It's time to grab those last-minute tickets!

"Robin will be the first artist to give two solo concerts in Shanghai in half a year," says Timmy Yu from the local organizer Bellson Development Ltd. "The Shanghai concert in May was the premiere of his Asian tour and he enjoyed it very much. Robin told us he loves Shanghai so much that he would love to come back as soon as possible, as he promised the Shanghai audience at the concert."

Once there were rumors that, like Robbie Williams and Jay-Z, Gibb would cancel or most likely postpone the concert to next year.

"That's true," Yu says. "Both Robin and the company have tried our best to make the concert run on time. We don't want the loyal fans to wait for too long."

According to Yu, like last time, the stage set will be simple and compact because "Robin hopes that his music, his passion and his interaction with the audience will be the major features of the concert."

There will be slight changes in the program list but Gibb will surely perform the classics including "Night Fever," "How Deep is Your Love," "Massachusetts" and "Staying Alive."

Thirty musicians from the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra will accompany the 90-minute show.

Along with his twin brother Maurice Gibb and his brother Barry Gibb, Robin formed the legendary pop band, the Bee Gees, which came from the "Brothers Gibb."

Their albums sold more than 100 million copies. In the more than 25 years that the band has been together, they recorded more than 25 albums; eight singles reached No. 1 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart in the United States, three singles hit No. 1 in the United Kingdom and many more hit the top of the charts globally.

Songwriters, record-makers, performers, the Gibb brothers have spent their lives in pop music since childhood. Never exactly rock 'n' roll, rhythm and blues, country, pop ballads, or anything else, they have created a body of work that blends a little of everything by following their musical instincts.

The Bee Gees were a smash hit in the UK during the 1960s and 1970s. Their fame became international when their hit "New York Mining Disaster 1941" reached the US music charts. Other hits were "Massachusetts," "World" and "I've Gotta Get a Message to You."

The late 1970s brought extraordinary success to the band when some of their songs were used on the soundtrack of the film "Saturday Night Fever," during the disco phenomenon. The single "Night Fever" was a multi-platinum single in its own right and topped the US charts for eight weeks.

Brit Awards

"Staying Alive" became a classic disco anthem that sums up the mood and feel of the disco era of the 1970s. They also released "How Deep Is Your Love" and "More Than a Woman" in the same album.

In 1996 the group earned the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Brit Awards, followed by the Lifetime Achievement Award at the American Music Awards in 1997. They were inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

In early 2003 the Bee Gees lost Maurice to heart failure and decided to retire the Bee Gees name.

Also in early 2003, Robin released a solo single "Please." In late 2004, he embarked on a solo tour of Germany, Russia and some Asian countries and regions. On his return he released a CD and DVD of live recordings from the German leg of the tour.

A further solo tour of Latin America followed in 2005. In February 2006, after a long period of coolness following rumored disagreements about a planned memorial concert for Maurice, Robin joined his brother Barry live on stage at a charity concert in Hollywood. This was the first time they had performed together since the death of their brother in 2003.

A month later, he announced his plans of a solo tour and opening concert in Shanghai - now he is on the way back for the second time.
