Tibet values winter travel market(CRI)Updated: 2006-11-14 10:25 The tourism bureau of Tibet Autonomous Region plans to organize direct charter flights during the Spring Festival of 2007 to boost its low-season travel market. Wang Ping, vice-director of Tibet's tourism bureau, said travel agencies in Lhasa should be more active during the winter season instead of putting in minimal efforts during the winter. "Organizing tourists to spend the Spring Festival in Tibet or experiencing Tibetan New Year, these are all good ways to attract tourists. We just need to use our brains," he said. The bureau organized an international hiking expedition around Lake Namtso in the summer and direct charter flights from Singapore to Lhasa in October. Click Pilgrimage to
