Full-blown chili cook-off(cityweekend)Updated: 2006-11-07 10:14 I am excited to announce that Bubbas Bar-B-Que will be hosting Shanghais first ever full-blown chili cook-off and tailgate party this Fall. The cook-off will be held November 12 from Noon to 6 p.m. in the front-yard area of Bubbas restaurant (dont worry, Ill mow the weeds and take that ol junker of a truck off its blocks and move it to my brother-in-laws double-wide down the road). Now people, due to space limitations, we are going to open the cook-off to the first 20 teams that both register....and pay. Entry for a team of up to 5 people is 500 rmb. The competition is open to restaurants, corporation teams, and individuals. Teams will be competing for Best Chili in Shanghai (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and... Nice Try), Peoples Choice, and Best Team Theme. A copy of the entry form and rules for competing is attached. Like I said, the first 20 that complete this form and bring it to Bubbas with the entry fee will gain spots in the competition. Each team member will be granted an official Shanghai 2006 Chili Cook-off t-shirt. As for the general public, entry to the event will be 150 rmb, which includes a book of coupons allowing you to taste all 20 chilies, plus vote on your favorite batch. The 150 rmb also includes all-you-can-drink draft beer during the cook-off. All proceeds from the chili cook-off will be donated to a local charitable organization. See you at Bubbas!
