To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the death of the late Chairman Mao Zedong on September 9, a grand epic concert will gather more than 500 performers.

The programme will include a cantata, recitation of Mao's poetry and tenor and soprano solos. 

Mao Zedong was born on the December 26, 1893, and died on the September 9, 1976 at the age of 83. He was the head of the Chinese Communist Party for forty-one years since the historic Zun Yi meeting (1935) during the Long March. He built the Red Army, took part in the anti-Japanese War and the civil war in China and finally chased the Nationalists to Taiwan and established the People's Republic of China. He was one of most influential people in the modern China history.
