Shanghai’s Wynn Win, however, will appeal to those with higher taste. The sleek, all-white interior, minimalist furniture and clever use of space create an artful environment, and we don’t mean kitsch. Even the menus, designed to resemble hardbound college notebooks, offer a heady lesson – that is, if one is studying mixology. Our Wynn Win Martini (RMB 98) was textbook perfect, made with a strong, satisfying base of Grey Goose Vodka. Only the music was tasteless, played loud and hard, with a driving robotic dance beat. Still, the majority of fashionistas and wealthy Chinese businessmen in attendance seemed to be enjoying the experience, one we hesitate to call "win-win".
