This late-night haven is a fixture on the after-hours scene, so when
Kazu Nakamura took over the helm six months ago, he faced a dilemma-how to mark
the club's new era without alienating its cadre of loyal regulars.
Working with a team of local designers and contractors, he hit on the perfect
solution: a gentle make over that is both fresh and familiar. Dragon's long-time
patrons will recognize the same vibrant, glossy, sexy reds and oranges, and
welcome the upgrade given to the furniture and fixtures (following two years of
abuse). Kazu was also adamant about preserving the character of the nearly
century-old villa in which the club is housed.
A philosophy of preservation that is especially evident above the club, at
Colabo, the light, airy Italian restaurant tucked under rustic wooden eaves on
the third and fourth floors. For those who preserve their appetites after a
