Wuxu Lake Scenic Area is one of the most prominent scenic spots of Shangri-la in southwestern China's Yunnan province. The scenic area is located 1,440m above sea level on average and occupies an area of 400 square kilometers. The average annual temperature in the region is 4.9 degrees Celsius.

In Tibetan, Wuxu means "shiny lake." Snow-capped mountains, high-plateau prairies, glaciers, virgin forests and canyons are scattered across the scenic area. Diversified animal species and plants are also among the features of Wuxu Lake.
