Good news for Beijingers. Starting from July 1 a total of 12 local
parks will waive their entrance fees to the public. The municipal government has
also decided to make another six museums free for visitors.
The 12 parks include parks such as the Purple Bamboo Park or Zizhuyuan near
the National Library and the Rendinghu Park in the city center. The six museums
include the Haidian Museum and the Beijing Miluyuan Museum.
Entrance tickets for the 18 parks and museums cost little, ranging from one
to five yuan.
During the time the public venues are open free to the public, maintenance
and repair fees will be covered under government subsidy.
