A small staff, headed by a considerate, English-speaking manager, serves up light tapas (RMB 12-25), soup and main courses (RMB 30-150). Calderetadecordero Lamb, Musakhkahan Chicken Wraps and many other specialties populate the menu, yet despite the fancy names and helpful comments from the chef, some of the dishes' flavors ultimately lack character. Nonetheless, try the tasty tortilla Espaniola Omelet (RMB 12) and garlic-flavored Spaghetti Pomodoro (RMB 40).

Though La Cocina falls a bit short of its name, which means 'the kitchen', its attractive prices and comfortable surroundings make for an affordable night out.
