One of the more captivating stories to emerge recently from the local bar scene is that of George and Echo, two popular bartenders who have bounced from bar to bar along Nan Sanlitun Lu, each time taking their loyal customers with them. Their latest stop is at Q-Bar, where they have teamed up with another mixologist friend to create what should be one of Beijing's top cocktail lounges.

Q-Bar is situated on the top floor of the Eastern Inn, just south of the duo's old employer Midnight. Much like Midnight, Q-Bar offers quality jazz tunes and top-notch cocktails (while their drinks list was still being prepared when we visited, all indications were that prices would be similar to those at Midnight). This spot, however, is larger than their last one, and even has a surprisingly spacious rooftop patio adorned with wooden furniture. While rather bare as of our first visit, future plans to add greenery suggests summer nights drinking quality cocktails under the Beijing moon.
