A musical night at Babyface

Before forming Aquasky with Dave Wallace and Keiron Bailey, Brent Newitt won acclaim for his hip hop releases under the alias of Jaziac Sunflowers on Bob Jones' Black on Black label. Since then he has enjoyed steady success with Aquasky ever since their first single, "Dezires/Images" was mixed by DJ Krust, prompting Moving Shadow Records to sign the trio on a three record deal.

After various experimental ventures, Aquasky returned to their drum & bass roots by recording Bodyshock and Aftershock. The former album featured "Blue Thunder," which was made famous courtesy of its inclusion on the soundtrack for the first Tony Hawk video game. The latter, Aftershock (2000), was the first time the band dabbled in breakbeat-a move indicative of Aquasky's penchant to experiment with various musical genres. This trait has ultimately rendered each member an accomplished DJ in his own right: Newitt has already performed (under various aliases) at many venues and festivals around the world, bringing with him his open approach to music and, of course, a good ear for a bass line.

Expect nothing less when he performs at Babyface on June 16.
