The benefits of yoga are being recognized today as a viable alternative for exercise and well being, not only by the yoga community, but also by medical practitioners.

With numerous professional yoga studios, as well as private instructors, springing up locally in recent years, this ancient Indian practice has quickly gained a following around town.

Y+ Yoga Center was one of the first to inaugurate a new era of yoga in China and has continued its leadership role in promoting the development of the domestic industry.

After six months of painstaking preparations and mounting anticipation, Y+ recently unveiled its new Corporate Avenue Yoga Center. Located close to the trendy Xintiandi entertainment complex, the center has introduced to China brand-new standards of yoga wellness and lifestyle.

The new standards are based on Y+'s own "All-dimensional Yoga Lifestyle Concept." The six senses in vision, taste, smell, touch, sound and soul are engaged to help yogis attain the perfect unity of body and soul.

The studio's healthy lifestyle concept is based on the five traditional principals of yoga in practice, self-care, relaxation, breathing and diet.

A range of yoga services are available at the studio, including healthy yoga menus, yoga fashion and accessories and Thai massage with yoga theory. These allow yogis to better integrate a healthy lifestyle concept into their daily lives.

The interior of the studio was designed by world-famous architect/interior designer Lyndon Neri. The Harvard graduate's unique vision and talents have enabled him to blend architectural excellence with traditional yoga principles. The result is an ideal environment for yoga practice, as well as a tranquil space for meditation and relaxation in the heart of the bustling city.

As the studio faces Taipingqiao Lake at Xintiandi, the vivid water view induces relaxation and a feeling of peace for yoga practitioners.

Founded three years ago, Y+ is considered the city's premier yoga studio for its professional, yet relaxed atmosphere. The studio reaches out to all types, offering a variety of activities, including classes, workshops and specialty yoga programs.
