The grand opening promised so much: major US promoter, Greg Lites of Icon Entertainment; big name boxer Mike Tyson, guest of honor; and a tempting tagline: 'The Adult Playground'. 

Alas, Snatch is no better (and no worse) than its puerile name suggests. Featuring the same unimaginative interior as any of a multitude of Shanghai clubs, Snatch's look is old before the paint has even dried.

At least the drinks are reasonably priced. But on opening night the service was agonizingly slow; perhaps the barmen were overwhelmed by the magnitude of the occasion. With Tyson's oh-so-fleeting appearance, the lovely dancing girls were obliged to provide the ringside entertainment. However, the postage stamp-sized dancefloor and obvious lack of a winning strategy make Snatch a sure contender for the punch-drunk prize of the night.
