Cafe Transat to rest your weary feet
(That's Shanghai)

Xintiandi's proliferation of bars and restaurants can leave visitors confused and even overwhelmed. Of course, if you need time and place to consider your options in peace, you can always stroll 'round the adjoining lake, that is, if the security guards don't chase you away.

But why bother, when you can go straight to Cafe Transat (CT). Their upmarket menu features a great turkey roll with cranberry sauce (RMB 65) and a fine Mediterranean pita (RMB 58). What's more, all sandwiches come with your choice of fries, spicy fries or wedges.

CT may not be a destination in its own right, unlike its glamorous neighbors, but if you're in the area and looking for a place to rest your weary feet, this pleasant cafe fits the bill.
