Fans of Winnie the Pooh have a final opportunity to see their favorite bear this weekend at Century Theater.
Although the performance is primarily for children under 7 years old, at the opening performance on Wednesday a significant proportion of the audience were grown up Winnie fans born in the 1980s and 90s.
The Disney stage play put an emphasis on costumes and scenery in order to provide a vivid impression of Winnie's life. Producer Kenny Field hopes the production will encourage young kids to become interested in stage plays.
The storyline follows Winnie and his friends in the jungle, and illustrates his passion for life and honey.
For many grown-ups in the theater, Winnie has been their friend for decades and they have drawn simple life lessons from him, such as being happy but determined.
"Winnie is a friend to people of all ages. His cute outlook attracts the attention of kids and his integrity, kindness and a healthy way of living touches the hearts of grown-ups who have working pressures. He is a life-long buddy," says Joseph Liu, manager of Feld Entertainment China.
