The Italian opera singer Piero Mazzocchetti will give two concerts at the Beizhan Theater next week.
The 31-year-old tenor will sing arias selected from Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, Mascagni and Bizet's operas.
Mazzocchetti first learned piano at 6. After showing early signs of a fine voice, he then studied with the legendary Mariateresa Giammarino, the former coach of Pavarotti.
He achieved his breakthrough by singing in a piano bar in Monaco de Baviera, Germany, where he was enthusiastically received by the audience and became a local sensation.
He then took his international career to a new level in 2006, performing throughout the Americas, Europe and North Africa. Important television appearances alongside such great artists as Bocelli, Pavarotti, Carreras and Whitney Houston confirmed his elevation into the elite.
Even Pavarotti once said: "Mazzocchetti has a good voice, a really good voice." Last year, after the great tenor passed away, Mazzocchetti released a tribute album, Tribute to Luciano Pavarotti.
