A memorial service for the late China Daily veteran journalist Li Xing was held at China Daily's Beijing offices on Tuesday morning.
Wang Guoqing, vice-minister of the State Council Information Office, Zhu Ling, editor-in-chief of China Daily, and Li's family members and friends, together with 200 other China Daily staff representatives attended the service.
Li, 54, was struck by a cerebral hemorrhage while on assignment at the National Press Building during a luncheon on Aug 4 and died on Aug 7 at Georgetown University Hospital. At the time of her death, she was the paper's chief US correspondent and assistant editor-in-chief.
Her ashes arrived at Beijing airport on Sunday night.
More than 60 friends and colleagues from China and the US attended an earlier memorial service to pay tribute to Li in Washington DC on Aug 11.
