Power grid operators will be focused on upgrading the power industry, such as constructing smart grid and charging facilities for electric vehicles, to prepare for the upcoming boom in the electric cars market.

According to estimates, when electric car sales achieve 200 million units, the new electricity demand will approximate 490 billion yuan ($72 billion), the newspaper said.
